Understanding LED Connector Types
There are three distinct types of solderless connectors, each engineered for specific applications. The pigtail connector, featuring a single connector end with wire leads on the opposite side, provides versatility for power supply connections and wire junctions. This design makes it particularly effective as an intermediate connection point in complex installations.
The jumper connector, also known as a two-connector piece, excels in situations requiring strip-to-strip connectivity. This dual-ended design proves invaluable when navigating corners in installations or creating seamless connections in under-cabinet lighting projects.
For joining strips directly together, the splice connector offers an elegant solution. This connector type is particularly useful when working with remnant pieces from previous projects or when extending installation runs.
Installation Process

L and N Series Installation
The installation of L and N series connectors follows a straightforward process. Begin by verifying strip polarity and aligning the positive terminal with the red wire on the connector. The strip should be inserted with blades positioned on the top side. Using pliers, compress the metal-foiled blades completely, ensuring thorough compression of both ends for a secure connection.
RGBW Series Installation
Working with the five-channel connector requires particular attention to polarity alignment. The color coding system (white on bottom, black on top) ensures proper connection. After inserting the strip fully into the connector, compress all blades thoroughly, checking both sides for complete blade penetration. The backing tape can be either removed or left in place, depending on the specific application requirements.
L-Series RGB Installation
The RGB connector brings solderless capability to RGB strip installations. The process begins with precise color-code alignment, matching green to green and following the RGB sequence. Position the strip carefully within the connector and insert it completely to ensure full contact. The compression of the connector on both front and back ensures reliable connectivity across all channels.
Important Considerations
The solderless bite connector system features two key characteristics that installers should understand. First, these connectors are designed for permanent installation - once the bite mechanism engages with the strip, creating a secure connection, removal is not possible. This one-time use design ensures long-term connection stability.
Second, while these connectors provide excellent connectivity, they do not modify the maximum run length limitations of LED strips. Standard limitations (typically 16.4 feet) remain in effect, and proper attention to manufacturer specifications ensures optimal performance.
