FAQ
Have a question and don't see the answer below? Click here to chat with an LED expert.
- What light color should I choose?
- Warm White is equivalent to a standard incandescent light color and is most popular for residential applications. It has a slight warm yellow glow to it that many people find comfortable and we are all used to seeing in our homes. It is a 2700-3000K on the Kelvin Light Color Scale.
Cool White is equivalent to a standard CFL or Fluorescent light color and is most popular for commercial applications, although it is also used fairly often in residential. It puts out a pure white without any yellow undertone. It is a 4000-4500K on the Kelvin Light Color Scale.
Neutral White is a very pure white, most popular for commercial applications, although it is also used fairly often in residential. It puts out a pure white without without any blue undertone. It is a 5000-5500K on the Kelvin Light Color Scale.
DayWhite™ most closely replicates natural daylight and does have a slight blue hue to the light output. This is rarely seen in residential applications as the light output can seem a bit harsh and bright, and is most commonly seen in exterior or commercial applications. This is the brightest of the White light color options. It is a 6000-6500K on the Kelvin Light Color Scale. - Which voltage option should I choose?
- 12VDC: Popular for automotive, motorcycle, boat/marine applications, or anywhere where you are connecting to a 12 volt DC supply. Some applications may require a separate 12VDC power supply!
24VDC: This is the most popular option for residential and commercial applications. 24VDC is a safe low voltage, and is the most stable and reliable voltage for your aspectLED inground lights. Requires a separate 24 volt DC power supply!
120VAC: Designed to connect directly to your 120VAC residential supply power. No additional power supply is required.
12VAC: For use with legacy 12VAC power supplies, which have been popular in outdoor applications and are still popular with incandescent power supplies. Be sure your power supply is 12VAC, as the product warranty does not cover using a DC power supply with an AC fixture, or vice versa. - If I choose a low voltage (12VDC or 24VDC) light; how do I know what power supply to purchase?
- The method to calculate your required power source for a low voltage light installation would be to take the watts per light (in the specs section of the product you are interested in), multiply by the number of fixtures you plan to install, and then add 20% to that total. The resulting number is the minimum number of watts your power supply needs to be, so round up to the next available size power supply. It never hurts to go with a larger power supply. Your lights will only consume the number of watts actually being used when they are on.
- What gauge wire should I run to my in-ground/in-wall lights?
- We generally recommend using between 14ga and 16ga stranded wire. Longer distances require larger gauge wire. Always consult a wire gauge chart to determine the correct size wire for your application.
- Is this fixture UL listed?
- Many of our products are UL listed. To confirm, please review the Certifications listed under the product specifications section of the product you are interested in.

Choosing a color
White Light
Warm White

Warm White is most popular light color for residential applications and has a bit of a gentle/soft warmth/yellowish hue to it. Warm white is the same color as a standard incandescent light bulb, which is 2700-3000K.
Cool White

Cool white (also referred to as Neutral White) is popular for commercial (office/hospital/medical/municipal) applications. It is also very popular in modern-style residential projects. Cool white is a very pure white, it doesn't really have any yellowish or blueish hue. Cool white is the same color as most fluorescent light bulbs, which is 4000-4300K.
Day White (Daylight White)

DayWhite TM is the brightest LED light color that we offer and is popular in industrial and other applications where a high color temperature and high brightness is desired. DayWhite is an ultra-pure white, with a bit of a blue-ish hue, designed to mimic the color of natural sunlight. It is the same color as metal halide bulbs, which is 6000K.
Colored Light
If you're looking for a specific color of light output, we also offer a variety of colored LEDs, including: Blue, Green, Red and Yellow.

Wire Lead Length
The wire lead length is the amount of waterproof rubberized wire that comes pre-attached to your LED light fixture. Most electricians and contractors prefer to have enough wire length to get from the light fixture to a nearby above-ground/above-water junction box.

Choosing the right voltage
Low Voltage DC
12VDC or 24VDC (12 volts DC or 24 volts DC) are the most popular options for newer residential landscape lighting. These voltages require an LED power supply that outputs DC voltage. 12VDC and 24VDC are a safe, low voltage and is the most stable and reliable voltage for your LED lights.
120VAC (Line Voltage)
Many of our landscape lights are also available in a line voltage (120VAC) version. Remember that line voltage is a high voltage power source, so you should ensure that you are familiar with all of your local codes for installing electrical fixtures before choosing 120VAC.
12VAC
12VAC (12 volts AC) is used in many older landscape lighting applications. A 12VAC system is different than a 12VDC system in that it will use AC current rather than DC. If you have an existing transformer or landscape lighting, check to see if it is 12VAC or 12VDC.
