Can I connect multiple light sheets together?
Yes, you can! Though different products may have different maximum run lengths. Make sure to check the product’s listed specs for more information.
How many connectors should I use to connect light sheets?
To ensure the maximum run length is achieved without damaging the product, it’s always recommended to use 2 connections between light sheets.
How many connectors do I get with each light sheet? Do I need to purchase extra for my project?
Each light sheet ships with (2) 8” pigtail, (2) 2.75” jumper XH connectors. If you're arranging your sheets end to end, these will cover all connections. However, if you're creating a grid with the sheets, you'll need to purchase extra to make the additional sheet to sheet connections for optimal performance.
Why aren’t my light sheets working when they seem to be connected properly?
The most common reason for this is a polarity issue between the two sides of the connectors. Oftentimes, an individual sheet will be installed with incorrect +/- alignment – and while the connectors are firmly inserted, the positive and negative will be crossed in this instance.
How do I connect my light sheets to the power supply?
The easiest way to connect your light sheets to the power supply is by using the Plug and Play connectors shipped with your product. Using the “pigtail” type (with bare wires on one side) will be used to connect the sheets to the power supply. See the installation instructions for further details.
What can I use for spacers? To elevate the countertop above the light sheets?
Each Lo-Glow™ light sheet is shipped with (10) plastic spacers to be placed across the light sheet in any of the locations marked. Individual spacers can support 44 lbs of weight.
What controllers and/or dimmer switches do I need for the Lo-Glow light sheets?
While there are many options to choose from, for the best user experience, we recommend a PWM-style dimmer with app-based controls like this Casambi product. It is also possible to wire these directly to an in-wall dimmer/switch. However, larger projects may require multiple switches to control the entire light sheet installation.
Is there a special trick to getting the tape off these spacers?
The most effective method for removing the sticker backing from the light sheet spacers is with a needle-nose pliers. Simply grab the edge of the backing with the tip of the pliers and pull gently.
Should I be using all the spacers that shipped with my light sheets?
You can if you'd like to, but it's not always a requirement. The weight of the material resting on the sheets/spacers (usually in pounds per square feet) will ultimately determine the total number of spacers required. If each spacer can support up to 44lbs you can theoretically support up to 440 lbs above each light sheet. But most sub-structures would have a hard time supporting a weight of that magnitude.
