Casambi App Installation Guide

We know how boring it can be to read instructions, so we’ll keep this installation guide as short and sweet as possible. Before you begin with your installation, be sure to fully read these instructions. They contain many useful tips and pointers that will help to ensure a perfect installation and save you time.

Before you begin, make sure your power supplies and light fixtures are connected and installed properly by a qualified person in accordance with to the National Electric Code (NEC) and all applicable local building and electrical codes for your area

1. Wire Your Casambi to Your Power Supply and Fixtures
   Before you begin, make sure all power supplies and light fixtures are connected and installed properly. If you need help making your connections, please view our other installation guides for more assistance or call our customer service line.

1. Download the Casambi App onto Your Smartphone or Tablet
   You can download the Casambi App from the Apple App Store or from Google Play.

1. Select My Networks
   Initially, no networks will appear because you haven't set any up yet.

1. Create a Network
   You'll find this option by clicking on the 3 dots in the upper right corner.

1. Select Evolution

1. Complete Required Fields
   Naming your network, how you'll share your network, and location and time settings are all required.

1. Select Type of Sharing
   When you select the type of sharing you wish to do, you will then be asked for an email address. You’ll either create one password or multiple passwords if you select sharing mode – one for administrator and guest.

1. Recommended: Show Nearby Luminaires
   This makes adding devices easier and more streamlined in the future.

1. Mode and Frequencies
   Do not make any adjustments.

1. Select Done at the Top Right Corner
   You have now created a network.

1. Connect the Power Supply to Power

1. Ensure Bluetooth is Activated on Your Device

1. Open the Casambi App
   The app will automatically discover all luminaires and dimmers that are powered through Bluetooth connection.

1. Selecting Your Casambi Profile
   By default, your Casambi will show up as the standard RGBW profile. If you would like to change this to a different profile (such as Single Color or Color Tuning), tap the Casambi that you'd like to change, select Change Profile, then select the type of lighting that you would like to control.

1. Update Firmware if Prompted
   If you see a small arrow on the top of your Casambi's icon, a firmware update is available for the device. To update, tap the Casambi icon and select Update Firmware. Then, follow the instructions on screen to complete the update.

1. Pairing Your Device
   To onboard a device into your basic network, select Pair Device. To customize your network options select Add Individually to > Create a Network > Evolution

1. Basic Lighting Control
   The main screen that will control your lighting is the Luminaires Tab. Tap & hold on the ficture to bring up screen controls for the following basic lighting gestures:
   
   • Power On & Power Off
   
   
   • Adjust Brightness with the Dimming Slider
   
   
   • Adjust Color Tuning with the Color Temperature Slider
   
   
   • Adjust Fixture Color
   
   

1. Naming Your Device
   To customize the name of your device, go to My Network > Edit > Tap the Fixture You'd Like to Change > Name and rename your device. You can also set the icon image for your device from this panel

PRO TIP! From this panel you can also adjust the high-end and low-end trim if you're experiencing flicker issues. If these issues persist after attempted adjustment, you may need to evaluate your wiring set up.

1. Grouping Your Fixtures
   If you have multiple Casambi Devices, you can group them together for simultaneous control. To do this, select Group from the upper left corner, tap on the fixtures you want to group together, then select the folder icon from the upper right corner to assign a name and create the group.

1. Creating a Gallery
   You can also use the Gallery tab to control your lighting. From this tab, you can create a picture gallery of multiple rooms and scenes controlled by your Casambi system and label the pictures with markers denoting where your Casambi controlled lights are located.
   To Create a Gallery:
   
   • Tap the Gallery tab then select the sample photo
   • Select Take Photo with CameraorUpload From Device
   • Change the default name to your preferred option
   • Tap the + int he upper left corner then tap the fixtures you want included in this gallery. Tap Done when finished.
   • A colored dot will appear on the screen that you can adjust to signify where your fixture is located in the photo
   • Repeat the process for any other lights that you'd like to label.
   
   

1. To Create a Scene
   
   • Navigate to the Scenes tab located on the bottom menu of the main screen > Add a Scene > Enter a Name > Add Scene
   
   
   • Tap the icons of the fixtures you want to add to the scene
   
   
   • Tap and hold on the fixture control to open the slider and palette screen, then select the color and dimming settings you'd like for the fixture.
   
   
   • Select Continue when done.
   
   
   • Set the color, icon, and name for your scene and select Done when completed.
   
   
   • Repeat the process to create as many scenes as you'd like.
   
   

1. To Create an Animation
   Go to Edit > + > Creat a Name for Your Animation > Add an Animation > Then add in the animation steps and transitions you'd like to make.
   For Exampe:
   
   • Add "Example Scene 1" - Fade Time 10 sec.
   
   
   • Add 1 Minute Wait Time
   
   
   • Add "Example Scene 2" - Fade Time 10 sec.
   
   

   This will fade into Example Scene 1 for 10 seconds, stay there for 1 minute, and then fade to Example Scene 2 for 10 seconds.

   
   

   After adding in any animations that you want, select if you want the animation to loop or if you want it to run once.

   
   

   Set the icon and the color for the animation and tap Done when you're finished. Repeat the process if you'd like to add another animation.
