How do I control the lights in the Pergola Lighting Kit?

The lights are controlled using the Casambi app, which is free to download on mobile devices with no subscription fees. If you choose a kit that includes the Casambi Xpress controller, the lights can also be operated using a physical wall or handheld control.

Do I need to connect the kit to Wi-Fi?

No. The kit uses Bluetooth and is controlled directly from your mobile device—no Wi-Fi connection required.

Can I control multiple kits?

Yes. The controllers in each kit are discoverable in the app and can be controlled independently or grouped together for synchronized control.

Can I wire the LED strips in series?

No. The LED strips cannot be wired in series. Each strip must be connected directly to the kit’s control module. Extension cables are included to place strips farther from the control module when needed.

Can I wire the extension cables in series?

Yes. You can safely connect up to two extension cables in series if your LED strip is located farther from the controller. We do not recommend more than two extensions due to potential voltage drop.

Do the LED strips come with adhesive backing?

Yes, however the adhesive may not hold permanently to all outdoor surfaces. Additional mounting methods—such as silicone mounting straps, RTV silicone adhesive (included with each kit), or aluminum mounting channel—may be needed to secure the LED strips to your surface.

Can I install the kit outside?

Yes, the kit and power supply can be installed outdoors. Follow these guidelines:

• Feed the power supply output wires through the cable gland on the waterproof controller box.
• Orient the cable gland so it does not face upward to help prevent moisture intrusion.
• Never place the power supply or waterproof controller box in standing water or submerge them.
