Can I make the kit longer?

No. Each strip light has a maximum run length of 16.4 feet when used with the included power supply. The 16.4-foot kit includes one 16.4-foot strip light, while the 32.4-foot kit includes two separate 16.4-foot reels of strip lights. The two strips cannot be connected to create one continuous run. Instead, each strip must be connected separately to the power supply.

Is the kit dimmable?

Yes. The kit includes an InDrive 2-in-1 Dimmer Switch + Drive, so dimming is ready to use right out of the box, no additional parts required.

Is this bright enough for cooking?

Yes. The Summit Free Cut LED strip delivers up to 362 lumens per foot, providing bright, effective task lighting for food preparation and everyday countertop work. The amount of light reaching your work surface will vary based on strip placement and countertop finish. Dark, matte surfaces absorb more light, while lighter or polished surfaces reflect more for a brighter appearance.

Where should I mount the strip lights on my cabinets?

Install the strip light inside the included mounting channel and position it toward the front edge of the cabinet bottom. Because under cabinet lighting is primarily task lighting, front-edge placement helps direct light across the countertop and where you need it most.

For a standard 12-inch-deep upper cabinet above a 24-inch-deep base cabinet, positioning the strip near the front edge provides better countertop illumination rather than casting light primarily onto the wall. If your goal is to highlight a tile backsplash or create a more decorative effect, you can position the strip farther toward the back of the cabinet.
