Frequently Asked Questions About Ultra-Thin Recessed Lights

What measurements qualify a recessed light as a low-profile recessed light?

Our ultra-thin, low-profile recessed lights are less than 1" thick and feature a can-free design, allowing them to fit into small confined areas that other recessed lighting options cannot accommodate. Looking for something else? Take a look at our other recessed options.

What shapes are low profile recessed LED lights available in?

Our adjustable white and static white Ultra-Thin recessed lights are available in two shapes: round and square.

What are the benefits of low-profile recessed LED lights?

Low-profile recessed LED lights offer several advantages. They can be installed in tight spaces where traditional recessed ceiling lights cannot fit, such as ceilings with ductwork, piping, or other obstructions. They are perfect for hot-roof ceilings with limited vertical clearance and fit well in tight soffits and other areas with minimal space. Additionally, their low-profile design provides a clean, modern look while maximizing headroom. These benefits make low-profile recessed LED lights a versatile and practical choice for various lighting needs.

Where can low profile recessed LED lights be installed?

Ultra-thin recessed lights are ideal for installations with limited space above the sheetrock. They are especially well-suited for applications such as shower ceilings, suspended ceilings, display cases, coffered ceilings, RVs, general room lighting, under cabinets, marina lighting, and soffit lighting.

Are ultra-thin recessed LED lights dimmable?

Yes, both our adjustable white as well as our static white ultra-thin recessed lights are dimmable.

What color temperatures are available?

Every adjustable white ultra-thin has an included driver that allows you to toggle between five LED light temperature options including 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, and 5000K. Our static white ultra-thin lights are available in fixed color temperatures: 3000K, 4000K, or 6000K.

How long do aspectLED’s ultra-thin LED lights last?

Our ultra-thin lights will last an estimated 50,000 hours of operation and carry a three year warranty for added peace of mind.

Is there a difference between downlighting, can lighting, pot lighting, and recessed lighting?

Down lighting is a lighting technique that uses light fixtures to direct light downward to illuminate an area below the lights. Recessed lights, also known as down lights, are fixtures used for downlighting purposes and installed into an opening in the ceiling or wall. Can lights, or pot lights, are a type of recessed fixture. A can light, or pot light, is a fixture that is cylindrical, similar to a pot or canister, and fits in a hole in the ceiling that is circular.

What wattage and brightness can I expect from low profile recessed LED lighting?

Our ultra-thin recessed lights come in a variety of diameters and wattages to ensure you find the perfect fit for your needs. Please see the specifications listed on the individual product pages for specific lumen output of the varying light temperatures on the Adjustable White fixtures.
