It is essential to install this product (and all other electrical products) in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC) and all applicable local building and electrical codes for your area. If you are unfamiliar with the NEC, your local building/electrical codes, and/or the proper installation methods for electrical devices, please hire a qualified, licensed electrician to complete the installation.
Remember S.A.F.E.T.Y.
S: Shut off power.
A: Ask a licensed electrician if needed.
F: Follow NEC guidelines.
E: Equip yourself with proper PPE.
T: Treat the wires as live.
Y: You are responsible.
The PWM booster should be installed in a dry, easily accessible location.
- The PWM booster is designed for use with low-voltage (12V and 24V DC) LED systems that use PWM dimming and control.
- Each channel supports a maximum of 5A, which equals 120W per channel at 24V. As long as you stay within this limit, you can expand your system as needed.
- For optimal performance, connect boosters directly to the main controller. Placing a booster at the end of a long LED strip run may cause the signal to degrade before reaching the booster, resulting in colors that don’t match correctly between the original and extended sections.
- Do not double-tap signal terminals (i.e., insert two wires into the same terminal). Instead, use wire connectors (such as Wago-style terminals) to split the signal cleanly. This ensures a stable and reliable connection for your entire lighting system.
1. Mount the PWM Booster and controller.
It should be located in a dry location with adequate ventilation. It is recommended to mount the booster under your power supply because heat rises.
2. Set Up Your PWM Controller
Wire your PWM controller as you normally would. Do not connect your LEDs directly to the controller's output. Instead, the controller will send the signal to the input of the PWM booster.
3. Connect the Signal Wires to the Booster
Locate the booster’s input terminals labeled V+, R, G, B, and W (or WW and CW). Connect the corresponding signal wires from your controller output to these terminals.
4. Provide Power to the Booster
Connect the power supply output to the booster’s power input terminals, ensuring it matches the voltage requirements of your LEDs.
5. Wire Your LEDs to the Booster’s Output
Connect your LEDs to the booster’s output terminals, matching each wire to the corresponding terminal.
6. Expand with Multiple Boosters (If Needed)
If you need additional boosters for your project, repeat this wiring process for each additional booster. Ensure each booster has its own dedicated power supply and is connected to the same Controller/PWM signal source.
7. All Done! Congratulations!
You’ve successfully completed the installation process!
