What comes in the Toe Kick Lighting kit?
Everything you need for a complete, seamless toe kick lighting installation, without the guesswork. Each kit includes Summit Free Cut LED strip light, mounting channel, power supply, Casambi Bluetooth controller, and all necessary wire and strip light connectors. Every component is carefully matched and tested to work together as a complete system, so there’s no sizing math, separate sourcing, or compatibility concerns.
Do I need to buy anything else?
No. This is a complete, all-in-one toe kick lighting system. The strip light, mounting channel, power supply, controller, and connectors are all included and matched to work together. The only thing you need to provide is a powered outlet at the installation location.
Can I cut the LED strip?
Yes. The Summit Free Cut LED strip can be cut anywhere along its length, so you’re not limited to fixed cut marks. Simply measure your toe kick, cut the strip to the exact length you need, and the remaining section continues to illuminate with full, uniform brightness.
Can I make the kit longer?
No. Each strip light has a maximum run length of 16.4 feet when used with the included power supply. The 16.4-foot kit includes one 16.4-foot strip, while the 32.4-foot kit includes two separate 16.4-foot reels. The two strips cannot be connected to create one continuous run. Instead, each strip must be connected separately to the power supply.
Is the kit dimmable?
Yes. The kit includes a Casambi In-Wall Wireless Dimmer Switch and Casambi Bluetooth controller, so dimming is ready to use right out of the box, no additional parts required. Control brightness manually with the in-wall dimmer, or use the free Casambi app on your phone or tablet to adjust brightness, save lighting scenes, schedule on/off times, and group multiple lighting zones. Casambi uses Bluetooth, so no Wi-Fi or hub is required.
Is the Toe Kick Lighting Kit bright enough to use as a night light?
Yes. In most homes, the Toe Kick Lighting Kit provides more than enough light for nighttime navigation. The included Summit Free Cut LED strip delivers up to 362 lumens per foot, while the Casambi dimmer lets you lower the brightness to a soft, subtle glow. Keep in mind that perceived brightness can vary depending on flooring color, toe kick depth, and surrounding finishes.
