Project Overview

The Mia Mia Mine Influencer Home is a multi-level residential project that blends functional white lighting with dynamic RGB accents, tailored to each space’s daily use. From custom walk-in closets and service areas to entertainment-focused spaces like the golf simulator and under stair enclosed wine rack, the goal was to create lighting that feels layered, intentional, and easy to control, while remaining serviceable and safe for the long term.

This project also emphasized the importance of planning around power supplies, voltage, heat management, and control systems, especially in custom applications where lighting is integrated into millwork and architectural features.

Timeline

  1. Design Consultation

Goals for layered white and RGB lighting were defined, with aspectLED recommending products and controls for the home.

  2. Product Selection

Dotless strip lights, linear fixtures, channels, VersaDrives, and Casambi controls were chosen based on function, brightness, and visual impact.

  3. Technical Planning

aspectLED developed power, zoning, and layout plans to support clean integration, heat management, and long-term serviceability.

  4. Trade Coordination

Lighting details were finalized with millwork, electrical, and painting teams for seamless channel placement and concealed wiring.

  5. Installation & Testing

Systems were installed and tested with support for power supplies, dimming, wireless controls, and RGB programming.

  6. Final Setup

The completed system delivered reliable, layered lighting with a balance of functionality, ambiance, and visual impact.

Walk-In Closet Lighting Design & Installation

Three large walk-in closets were illuminated with 3000K Dotless™ LED Strip Lights and VersaDrives to deliver smooth, glare-free illumination with even coverage throughout the space. Power supplies were discreetly integrated into the cabinetry with proper airflow, while thoughtful placement directed light toward the backwall instead of the closet sides for better visibility. Home runs and 90-degree connectors also helped simplify servicing and maintain clean corner transitions.

The project also highlighted the importance of matching dimmers and power supplies correctly. A temporary mismatch with a non-dimmable driver caused overheating and strip failure, but switching to a properly rated 12V dimmable VersaDrive resolved the issue and reinforced the value of confirming compatibility early for long-term performance.

Pantry Lighting for Prep and Storage Spaces

On the main level, a butler’s pantry and an additional pantry received lighting that supports everyday tasks while blending seamlessly with the kitchen. Recessed ceiling lights provide general illumination, and 12V LED strip lights integrated into shelving and cabinetry enhance visibility while giving the spaces a polished, finished look. VersaDrives were installed after correcting an initial power supply mismatch, illustrating the need for careful driver selection when combining recessed and low-voltage strip lighting. The result is practical, efficient lighting that’s subtle yet effective, ideal for prepping, storing, or serving.

Laundry Room Task Lighting

The laundry room required bright, even illumination capable of handling frequent use. Surface-mounted linear light bars were installed to provide strong, reliable task lighting while keeping the installation simple and durable. This approach ensures the space is fully functional for daily chores without compromising longevity or maintenance ease.

Under Stair Enclosed Wine Rack with RGB LEDs

Designed as a striking visual element rather than just storage, RGB Dotless™ LED Strip Lights are featured circling a large square wine rack. The lights cycle through the full color spectrum every 30 seconds, creating dynamic, attention-grabbing effects. Power supplies were mounted on the opposite side of the wall for accessibility and heat management, and Casambi wireless controls allow easy adjustment of color and intensity.

Because Casambi commissioning requires an active network connection, wireless control testing should be scheduled during the final setup phase or clearly identified as a punchlist item once Wi-Fi is available. The finished space balances functional wine storage with a bold, colorful statement wall that merges technology and design.

Immersive Golf Simulator Room Lighting

The golf simulator room combines practical lighting with an immersive,
mood-enhancing experience. RGB Dotless™ LED Strip Lights, installed in a lensed channel along two sides of the ceiling, is controlled by multiple Casambi units to create a fully customizable ambiance. Dotless™ LED strip lights under each stair lip provide subtle step illumination for safety and visual interest.

Each stair was individually addressed to allow precise control, requiring careful installation along curved surfaces. The result is a simulator space that is both functional and visually engaging, enhancing the overall user experience.

For future projects, the Borealis RGB Addressable Neon SideFlex Light could make similar installations faster. Its side-bend flexibility would simplify routing along curves, reducing installation time and minimizing the need for custom mounting solutions.

Wet Bar Lighting with LED Strips and VersaDrives

The basement wet bar blends functionality with style, requiring coordination with other trades to achieve a flawless finish. Dotless™ Static White Strip Lights routed into aluminum channels provide even, attractive illumination, while VersaDrives mounted under the sink supply hidden power.

Close collaboration with painters ensured proper channel sizing and screw placement to avoid exposed hardware and maintain a refined look. The finished wet bar offers practical task lighting while seamlessly integrating into the basement design.

Luxury Spa Bathroom Lighting

The spa bathroom was designed to foster a calm, luxurious atmosphere through subtle, indirect lighting. Dotless™ LED Strip Lights under the vanity toe kick provide soft floor-level illumination, while additional strip lights behind the back bench create gentle ambient backlighting.

This setup offers functional light without overwhelming the space, supporting daily use while maintaining a tranquil, spa-like vibe. Carefully hidden light sources enhance the modern aesthetic while reinforcing the room’s sense of relaxation.

Key Takeaways

The Mia Mia Mine Influencer Home demonstrates how thoughtful lighting design elevates every area of a residence, from highly functional spaces to immersive entertainment zones. Among the most important lessons were proper planning for power supplies, including sizing, cooling, and service access, along with voltage verification, control system coordination, and early consideration of wiring paths and home runs.

Addressing these details upfront allows integrated residential lighting to be visually striking, functional, and reliable for years to come. The project underscores how layered, intentional illumination can transform a home into both a practical and experiential environment.
