Dim to Warm LED Strip Light Installation Guide
Overview
This installation guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up the Dim to Warm Strip Light including tools, materials, and best practices for a clean and reliable installation. It covers everything from cutting and mounting the strip to wiring and troubleshooting, helping you achieve smooth dim-to-warm performance from 3000K down to 1800K. If you have any questions along the way, contact our team at 888.503.1317 or support@aspectled.com.
- Sharp scissors (for cutting the strip to length)
- Soldering iron and solder (if making custom connections)
- Lint-free cleaning cloth
- Cotton swabs (for cleaning solder pads)
- Architect LED Strip Light - Dim to Warm
- InDrive 2-in-1 Dimmer + Driver Single Color (***This is not compatible with the InDrive CCT Controller)
- Optional: Mounting channel, lens, connectors
Always practice S.A.F.E.T.Y. on the job site to protect yourself and your equipment:
S: Shut off power.
A: Ask a licensed electrician if needed.
F: Follow NEC guidelines.
E: Equip yourself with proper PPE.
T: Treat the wires as live.
Y: You are responsible.
This Architect series strip light is an IP20-rated, indoor-only product designed to smoothly transition color temperatures (from 3000K down to 1800K) as it dims. It pairs perfectly with the Single Color In-Drive Dimmer Driver.
Important Constraints:
- Maximum Run: Do not exceed the maximum continuous run limit of 16.4 feet (5 meters).
- Cutting: The strip can only be cut at the designated cut lines, spaced approximately every 2 inches (50mm).
1. Measure and Cut: Determine the required length for your installation. Cut the strip only along the clearly marked cut lines using sharp scissors.
2. Surface Preparation: Thoroughly clean the mounting surface with a lint-free cloth to remove any dust or grease. Ensure the surface is completely dry before proceeding.
3. Mounting: Peel the protective backing off the double-sided tape on the back of the strip. Carefully press the strip onto the prepared surface, applying even pressure along its length.
4. Soldering (if custom lengths are cut):
- Add a small amount of solder to the exposed solder pads on the strip end and to the ends of your connecting wires.
- Ensure the red wire connects to the positive (+) pad.
- Solder the wires securely to the solder pads.
- Use a cotton swab to clean any dirt or flux residue from around the solder pads.
5. Optional 2 pin Connectors: If you prefer not to solder, you can use compatible solderless connectors, such as the LD-SE-N10XB-2 or LD-SE-N10BB-2, ensuring the polarity matches.

Uneven Dimming or Color Shift: Ensure you are using the InDrive Single Color Controller designed for Dim-to-Warm applications. Verify that your total run length does not exceed the 16.4-foot maximum, which can cause voltage drop and inconsistent lighting.
Strip Not Lighting Up: Check your power supply to ensure it is outputting 24V DC. Verify the polarity of your connections at both the power supply and the controller.
Lights Flashing or Shutting Off: Your controller or power supply may be overloaded. Ensure your power supply is rated for the total wattage of your strip (approximately 4.87W/ft) and that your controller can handle the load.
